Stays WIP

Well well, like I said I would I made 18th century stays. They need to be recovered in something pretty (not least because they're covered in wax and pencil marks) and bound all the way round, but they're functional and thanks to a little shelf of stuffing sewn inside I have cleavage, dammit! I just covered it up with my tank top Pattern was taken off an existing pair of stays in shop and modified to my measurements; I made up the boning layout. Because this was done for school I used 1/4" steel boning (didn't have time to mess around with reed etc) but it's a bit more accurate than the other stage ones that looked much more like 1500s pairs of bodies. Whatever. Now I have to make a dress u.u
